The beach at San Juan del Sur is the most popular beach in Nicaragua .
A wide crescent beach with an abundance of small boutique hotels, backpacker hostels, restaurants and bars make it a popular destination for travelers, novice surfers, locals and of course, the resident ex-pats.
The town isn´t that pretty but it is a great base to visit the beaches to the north and south, many of which are real gems!
